NIGHT OWL BECOMES EARLY BIRD

radio-7-morningshow

Today I started co-hosting the Radio 7 Morningshow.

As some of you might already know, I had been hosting a fun music format for about a year –The Radio 7 Top 20– while working as Radio 7’s on air designer and producer.

Now, I was given a huge opportunity, the trust and creative freedom to shape the sound concept of the Radio 7 Morning Show by producing the new jingle package.

I feel incredibly lucky to collaborate with some of my most gifted friends and turn that musical vision into reality!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to my partners in crime: Benjamin Krause and Juan Carlos Enriquez. I am in awe for your musicality, your talent and tireless will to push –you’re just badass. I’m truly grateful for our journey, our friendship.

Thank you Noe, FAB, Gus & Justin at Igloo Music for your advice, passion and love. And of course, Charles Simmons and Alana for laying your soul into our melodies.

Lastly, thank all of YOU for believing in me and giving me the strength to leave my comfort zone on a regular basis to explore and experience the MAGIC.

The Adele Story

Last week was all about Adele on Radio 7. I produced and presented a multi-part special on her. Check it out here:

WRITING SONGS VS. PRODUCING FOR RADIO

There are definitely parallels between writing a song and producing a radio show. The technical aspects aside, you do sit down and think about what topics people could be interested in, where they will be listening to you and how you want the whole thing to sound like. For instance, when I composed the Ultra Music Festival hymn World in your Hands, I knew I was writing for people partying and dancing to the track.
Then, of course, you want to bring yourself to the table, as well, say what you want to say. So this is where it gets interesting.
To me, creating a concept and producing a show feels very similar to writing the melody, lyrics and arrangement for a song. Whereas radio hosting is very much like singing. It’s about you getting on the mic and hopefully making a connection with people.
On my six-hour Radio 7 NYE-special I got to do it all: from creating the idea, writing, selecting music beds to producing and presenting. I loved every part of it.

Thank you for tuning in ♡ Happy New Year!

STREET CONCERT MARA(THON)

donations42 concerts in 42 hours–
That was quite the marathon!

As part of the charity campaign ‘Radio 7 Spendenmarathon’ my friend and guitarist Siggi Schwarz and I teamed up to do a street concert tour.

We performed my charity song ‘Uns gehört die Welt’ just about anywhere –on market squares, in cafes, bars and in shopping malls. And as unglamorous this sounds, it actually was a lot of fun!

Best feeling: all donations go straight to the ‘Radio 7 Drachenkinder’ charity, supporting terminally ill children and their families.

You can make donations throughout the year!

ON AIR

I love talking. I love music.
So I guess, it was about time I put these two things together –and host a radio show!
I’m on air every Sunday presenting the ‘Radio 7 Top 20’ chart show ♡
