PARIS, MON AMOUR
Forget the Eiffel Tower! Here are three things to really do when in Paris:
- Get at least three scoops of the best ice cream at Berthillon
- Skip the Louvre, go check out the Picasso museum
- Treat yourself to a dinner at La Coupole – and get the Indian lamb curry!
Famous since 1927 and SO yummy.
Oh, and if you still have time:
Have your friend take a picture of you casually leaning against an original Parisian wall. Voilà!
POP AND PUB CULTURE
You gotta love London. From Brick Lane to Soho– just the perfect balance between dirty and polite. I’m always happy to find an excuse to go and last week I had a good one:
My Berklee buddy Matt Lange performed an epic DJ set at London’s Ministry of Sound in Dolby Atmos, which kind of blew me away. Probably the reason why the photo I took turned out so blurry.

MUSIKMESSE
Every April audio professionals from all over the world pilgrimage to Frankfurt for Musikmesse. This year I supported my friend, Mastering Engineer Stefan Heger of Fisheye Music, at the MasteringWorks booth.
Strolling around, I especially loved the Mother-32 by Moog and was super impressed by the Roli Seaboards. In any size: Definitely worth checking out!

Stolar!
Music is wild. It has gotten me into all sorts of situations. Some of them were… let’s say: interesting. Like that one time in Compton. Yeah, that was actually a little scary. But no, this week was the good kind of wild!
I told you I went to NAMM to meet friends. Well, one of these friends is the fabulous Fab Dupont. He works with Jay Stolar, a warm hearted, extremely gifted singer and songwriter from New York. Jay and I had an instant music connection and ended up writing a killer song together. My Berklee friend Sam PK joined us later in the week to produce and write another one with us at the BMG studios. It was as great as it was unexpected. Jay has laid down the vocals for two tracks already and I am looking forward to the moment we can share them with you. In the meantime, make sure you show him some Facebook love and follow him on Instagram.
NAMM Time is Family Time
No matter where I live on this planet, I always miss someone. Be it my family, a childhood friend, college roommates or my music colleagues. It’s because we’re all spread out across the world, doing what we love and staying in touch with FaceTime and Skype.
And in the meantime… I miss them.
That’s why I love NAMM: It gives us a good reason to pilgrimage to Anaheim. Yes, we’re here to check out gear, too, but mostly to get together and catch up.
Gracias, Bryan.
My first day back in LA and I am loving every second of it. Very much in contrast to the German stereotype, I haven’t made plans up until this morning. I feel ‘going with the flow’ always holds fun little surprises. Like today’s, when the one and only Bryan Adams showed me this vegan Mexican restaurant on Melrose Ave, Gracias Madre. If you find yourself in Beverly Hills some time, get their green smoothie. Super delicious!
